RF Material Data Collection
The Relevant RF Data Collection Module uses the RFGen program from DataMAX to collect data from RF and non-RF devices and import directly into INFIMACS II with the speed and flexibility of wireless transmission and data accuracy of bar-code scanners. Relevant provides all the programming to format records, validate order numbers, status, and quantities, and provide confirmation or error messages directly to the remote device.
If a customer already has a 3rd-party data collection system in place, they can purchase the back-end import programs with instructions on formatting the data in the Data Collection Import (DCI) file. In either case, import programs can run in the background and continuously load data into INFIMACS II, or run in batch mode, so data can be collected even while the system is off-line, or from locations where a connection to INFIMACS II is not accessible. Then the import programs can be run in batch mode to load collected records.
INFIMACS II provides barcoded printouts for the most common forms, such as purchase orders, pick lists, cycle count tags, and routings. Additionally, bar-code fonts are available from the Internet for adding bar-codes to Crystal Reports or MS Word documents. Bar-code scanners can read these bar-coded reports or labels on receipts, to rapidly and accurately gather data, such as order and operation numbers. Keyboards on collection devices also allow manual entry of non-coded information, such as quantities or location numbers.
